Global Settings

To help with consistency it is a good idea to set some global typography rules when working on a new email. This can be done from the Body section of the builder:

The default font and link colour will be used unless you choose to override them in a specific content block.

Content Properties

For each content block you can set the text color, link color and line-height. The text color and link color can then be over-written by the text editor tool when you are typing in the editor.

These will be the default settings for the content block.

Adding Your Copy

Now it's time to add in your copy. Simply drag a text content block into the position of your choice in the email and start typing. Please note that if you are copying and pasting text from a program like Microsoft Word you may see some strange styles being copied across. We would recommend copying and pasting into a simple text editor before copying to the builder. You could use text edit for mac or notepad for windows.

Styling Your Copy

When typing in the builder you'll notice a new tool bar appears above the text that you're editing. This will allow you to refine your typography by using bold and italic text, changing font-size, aligning text, creating lists and much more.

Adding Tokens (Marketo Specific)

To add merge tags you can click on the "Merge Tags" button in the text editing tool. This will pull up a list of the merge tags that you can use.

You can also simply type "@" into any text area to see a dropdown of available tokens to use.

Adding Field Merges (Eloqua Specific)

As an Eloqua user you can click on the "Merge Tags" button in the text editing tool. This will pull up a list of the field merges that you can use.

You can also simply type "@" into any text area to see a dropdown of available field merges to use.
