How to Set Up the Adobe Journey Optimizer Integration and Sync

Connect Knak to Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) to sync your email templates with a few clicks. After you complete the setup, you can publish templates directly from Knak to Adobe Journey Optimizer.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have:

  • Adobe Developer access

  • Access to Adobe Journey Optimizer

  • A Knak Admin account

Note: Depending on your organization's security settings, you may also need a system administrator to assign your API credentials to the appropriate User Group.


Set Up Your Adobe Developer Project

Create a New Project

  1. Create a new project.

Add the Adobe Journey Optimizer API

  1. Open your new project.

  2. Click Add API.

  3. Add the Adobe Journey Optimizer API.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Select OAuth Server-to-Server.

  6. Click Next.

  7. Select your product profiles.

  8. Click Save Configured API.

Add the Adobe Experience Platform API

Important: You must also add the Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) API to the same project. This step is required for the integration to work correctly.

  1. From your project, click Add to Project.

  2. Select API.

  4. Complete the setup using the same authentication method if prompted.

Generate Your Credentials

  1. Under the API configuration, click Generate access token.

  2. Copy the following values:

    • Client ID

    • Client Secret

    • Organization ID

Find Your Sandbox Name

  1. Log in to Adobe Journey Optimizer.

  2. Look at the browser URL.

  3. Copy the value that appears after sname:.

Optional: Assign API Credentials to a User Group

Some organizations require API credentials to be assigned to a User Group before the integration can authenticate.

A system administrator can complete this task in either:

  • Adobe Admin Console

  • Adobe Experience Platform Admin

Connect Adobe Journey Optimizer in Knak

  1. Log in to your Knak account.

  2. Click Admin.

  3. Select Integrations from the left navigation.

  4. Click Platforms.

    Integrations > Platforms navigation in the admin side of Knak.
  5. Navigate to the Adobe Journey Optimizer tile and click Connect.

  6. Enter the following information:

    1. Organization ID

    2. Sandbox Name

    3. Client ID

    4. Client Secret

  7. Click Create New Integration.

Manage Your Integration

After setup, view your integration in the My Platform Connection list on the Integrations page.

From here, you can:

  • View the configuration

  • Edit the integration

  • Delete the integration

To connect a new integration or re-add a deleted one:

  1. Scroll to All Platforms.

  2. Find the Adobe Journey Optimizer tile.

  3. Click Connect or Add Another Connection.

Sync an Email Template to Adobe Journey Optimizer

After your integration is connected:

  1. Open your email template.

  2. Click Actions.

  3. Click Sync.

  5. Rename the asset if needed.

  6. Click Sync.
