Generate Emails in Claude Using the Knak MCP Server

Create emails directly from Claude and send them to Knak using the MCP (Model Context Protocol) server.

Updated this week

Overview

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is a standardized protocol that allows AI agents layer connect external tools, such as Claude, to your Knak instance. This integration lets you generate email assets automatically using prompts. You can specify a brand and campaign, then let AI build the email content for you.

Note: This feature is currently in Alpha testing. Please reach out to grace.lee@knak.com if you would like to participate

Before You Start

Make sure the following are set up:

  • Access to Claude

  • Claude is connected to the Knak MCP server

  • You have access to a Knak brand and campaign

  • You know where you want the email asset to be created

Before you continue: Review the Integrate Claude to Knak MCP Server help article to configure your MCP connection.

Note: Emails are generated in the Knak instance you’re logged into when connecting to Knak MCP.

Generate an Email from Claude

Follow these steps to create an email:

Directly in Claude Prompt

  1. Enter a prompt describing the email you want

    1. Example: Promote an event or webinar

  2. Specify where the email should be created:

    1. Brand name

    2. Campaign name

    3. Theme (optional)

  3. Send the prompt

Claude will call the MCP server in the background. It will start generating your email using Knak AI.

Enter a prompt describing the email you want specifying the brand, campaign and theme

What Happens Next

  • Claude communicates with Knak through the MCP server

  • The Generate Asset tool runs in the background

  • The system confirms:

    • Brand

    • Campaign

    • Selected theme (if any)

You will also receive a URL link to access the campaign location and another URL link to preview the email.

The system states the brand, campaign and selected themes used to build the email and starts the build process

View Your Generated Email

You can access your email in two ways:

From the Provided Link

  1. Click the preview URL

  2. View the email as it is being generated

You can view the newly generated email by clicking on the preview URL

From Knak Studio

  1. Open Knak Studio

  2. Navigate to your campaign

  3. Locate the email asset

You may see a placeholder while the email is still processing.

You can view the newly generated email under your campaign in your Knak Studio

Regenerate or Create Variations

You can easily create another version of the same email.

  1. Update your prompt

    1. Example: “Create this without a theme”

  2. Send the prompt again

A new email will be created as a separate asset.

Example Prompts

Once connected, try asking your AI assistant:

  • "List my brands in Knak"

  • "Show me all campaigns in my [brand name] brand"

  • "Create a promotional email for our summer sale in the Q3 Marketing campaign"

  • "Generate a landing page for our product launch event"

  • "List all emails I created this month"

  • "Show me the details for asset [ID]"

  • "What themes are available for my brand?"

  • "Create a welcome email using the [theme name] theme with subject line 'Welcome to our community'"

Tips for Better Results

  • Use clear and specific prompts

  • Always include brand and campaign details

  • Mention the target audience or goal

  • Test multiple prompts for variation
