Updated over 3 weeks ago

Overview

The AEM integration syncs your AEM Digital Asset Manager (DAM) library with Knak. Once set up, you can insert AEM-hosted images directly into your Knak assets. This integration requires specific credentials and permissions to function.

For more technical details, review the Adobe Experience Manager – Technical Details Supplement.

Requirements

To complete the integration, gather the following:

  • AEM Username

  • AEM Password

  • AEM Endpoint URL

Note: You must have administrator or integrator permissions in Knak. OAuth tokens are not supported for this integration.

Step 1: Submit Your AEM Details

  1. Fill out this form with your AEM implementation details.

  2. Submit a support ticket after completing the form.

    • The integrations team will review your configuration and provide custom instructions.

Step 2: Configure the Integration in Knak

  1. Navigate to the Admin side of the platform

  2. In the sidebar, select Integrations > Platforms.

  3. Click Adobe Experience Manager under Digital Asset Management.

  4. Enter your AEM credentials:

    • Username

    • Password

    • Endpoint URL

    • Public URL prefix (if required)

  5. Click Create New Integration.

  6. You’ll see a success message confirming the connection. You can now pull AEM images into your emails and landing pages.

Managing the Integration

View, edit, or delete the integration from My Platform Connections on the Integrations page.

To add a new or second AEM integration, go to All Platforms, then click Connect or Add Another Connection.

Using AEM Renditions

Enable renditions to access all available asset variations from AEM:

  1. Toggle on Use renditions in the AEM integration tile.

  2. In a Knak asset, add an image block.

  3. Browse your AEM file system and click Show Renditions on any image.

Troubleshooting

If images are not appearing in your library:

  • Confirm the image URL ends with a supported file format: .png, .gif, .jpeg, or .tiff.
