What It Does
Single-file Translation Sync lets you consolidate multiple language versions of an email into one dynamic content template in AJO. The correct version appears automatically based on your recipient's language settings.
Setting Up Single-file Email Sync
Before you can use Single-file Email Sync, you'll need to enable it in your AJO integration settings:
Steps
Go to Admin > Integrations > Platforms.
Find your AJO integration and click the pencil icon to Edit Your Connection.
Click Advanced Options.
Enable Single-file translation sync.
Enter your language variable (see next section).
Click Save.
Note: If you do not see this feature available in your account, reach out to your CSM or Knak Support to enable this for you.
Set Your Language Variable
Make sure the language variable matches your AJO profile schema.
Steps
In AJO, go to Customer > Profile.
Select the Union Schema view.
Open up all the variables saved on a profile in your integration and review the profile’s variables.
Note: Knak uses two-letter language codes by default (eg. French is “fr”, not “fr-fr”). If you use a different variation of language codes, please reach out to your CSM to have your list updated.
Using single-file translation sync
After setup, you can sync any translated email into AJO.
Steps
Create your base email in Knak.
Create translations using Knak’s translation features.
Select your base email.
Choose your AJO integration.
Name your email.
Click Sync.
Previewing Your Single-file Email
You can preview how each translation will render inside AJO.
Steps
Open your synced email in AJO.
Go to Simulate Content > Simulate Content Variations.
Click Create Sample Input.
Update the language code in the text box to sample how the different language variants will render

Complete all translations before syncing. ✅
Confirm your language variable matches your AJO schema. ✅
Preview all versions after syncing to confirm correct rendering. ✅
