Bulk Update Modules

Update every asset that uses a module from one place. This feature lets you publish module changes across multiple assets without opening each asset individually.

Note: This feature is currently in Alpha testing. Please reach out to maral.artang@knak.com if you would like to participate.

Before You Begin

Before you start, make sure:

  • You have access to the Admin area.

  • You have permission to edit modules.

  • Your module changes are published before updating related assets.


Access Related Assets from the Modules List

View every asset that uses a specific module.

  1. Log in to Knak.

  2. Go to Admin.

  3. Select Modules.

  5. Click the gear icon.

  6. Select Related Assets.

Review Related Assets

The Related Assets page lists every asset that uses the selected module.

For each asset, you can view:

  • Brand

  • Module status

  • Last modified date

Filter Assets

Use filters to quickly find specific assets.

Available filters include:

  • Brand

  • Campaign

  • Module status

  • Asset status

  • Asset sync status

Sort Assets

You can also sort the list by:

  • Last Modified (Newest to Oldest)

  • Last Modified (Oldest to Newest)

  • Name (A–Z)

  • Name (Z–A)

Update Related Assets from the Module Editor

After you edit a module, you can immediately update every asset that uses it.

Step 1: Edit the Module

  1. Open the module.

  2. Make your changes.

  3. Click Save.

After you save, Knak displays an Unpublished message.

Step 2: Publish the Module

  1. Select the Actions Menu.

  2. Click Publish.

  3. Confirm the publish action.

The module is now ready to update related assets.

Step 3: Open Related Assets

  1. Open the Actions menu in the module editor.

  2. Select Related Assets.

  3. The Related Assets window displays every asset that uses the published module. Assets that need an update appear as Out of Date.

Step 4: Update Assets

Choose which assets you want to update.

  1. Select individual assets.

  2. Select the checkbox in the header row to select every asset in the list.

  3. Click Update Selected then click Confirm and Update when prompted.

Monitor Update Progress

After the update starts, Knak creates a background job.

To monitor progress:

  1. Open the Bulk Actions menu.

  2. Expand the Jobs panel.

The panel displays:

  • Update status

  • Number of completed jobs

  • Completion time for each job

Note: Updates may take longer in organizations with many assets that use the same module.

  • Update multiple assets from one location.

  • Reduce repetitive manual work.

  • Keep module content consistent across assets.

  • Monitor update progress with background jobs.
