Knak emails are built by dragging rows into your message and populating the rows with content objects like buttons, images and text boxes.
Each row has customizable settings that control the row look & layout.
How to adjust row properties
First let's take a look at a simple email design with one row and two columns
Click on either of the content objects (button or image) to see and adjust content editing options on the right of the screen for that object. For example, if you click on the "button" content object you will see the button attributes as shown in the screenshot below:
If you click to the outside of all content objects you will bring up the "Section Attributes." Here you can set row properties such as background colors, background images and row padding.
You can also set properties for individual columns with the row by expanding the "Column Attributes" and selecting which column you would like to edit:
Section Attributes:
Below are the available row editing options to edit row properties:
The "Background" drop down options to adjust section color, background color, inner Content Color, or even add a background image for your section:
The "Padding" section to adjust the padding at the section level:
You have two options to place borders at the section level, you can have an inner (black border) and outer (blue) border for a row. The borders are fully customizable by color, thickness, style (Solid, Dotted, Dashed) and which sides. You can also adjust section corners to get a rounded appearance. Select More Options to choose which sides you want a border on if you do not want them on all sides.
βColumn Attributes
Similar to the process above, you can customize your sections further by adjusting your column properties. Adjust the following to your desired outcome:
Set individual column background colors
Change column vertical alignments
Add column corners
Add column borders
Add more column padding
In the screenshot below the left column (column 1) has a black background, centered vertical alignment, column corners to make the column rounded, and 10 pixels of padding all around:
