Follow Accessibility Best Practices
Font Size
Use at least 14 px font size.
Smaller text is harder to read.
Color Contrast
Use high contrast between text and background.
Avoid light text on light backgrounds.

Use bold or underline for visibility.
Write descriptive link text.

Use live text instead of images.
Screen readers cannot read text inside images.
Images
Keep image usage under 40%
Too many images reduce readability.
Emoji
Do not replace words with emojis.
Include text alongside emojis.
Use Element Tags for Structure
Element tags define the structure of your content. They help screen readers understand headings and paragraphs.
Apply Element Tags
Select a text element.
Open the Element Tag dropdown.
Choose a tag:
H1 for the main title
H2 or H3 for subheadings
P for paragraphs
Best Practices
Use one H1 per email.
Follow a logical order (H1 โ H2 โ H3).
Do not skip heading levels.

Set Alt Text for Images
Alt text (alternative text) describes an image. It displays when images do not load. Screen readers use it to explain visuals.
Add Alt Text
Use AI to Generate Alt Text
Use Knak AI to create alt text quickly.
Select an image.
Click Knak AI Suggestions.
Choose a suggestion by pressing the Use button.
Save your changes.
To enable this feature:
Go to Admin โ Settings
Navigate to the AI Features tab.
Enable Alt-Text Suggestions for images in the Editor.
Best Practices
Describe the purpose of the image.
Keep text short and clear.
Avoid repeating nearby text
Review the Optimize tab while building your asset.
Add Roles to Table Elements
Set table roles at the section level to improve how screen readers interpret layout.
Set a Table Role
Select a section in your email or landing page
Open the HTML settings in the right panel
Find the Table Role option
Choose a role:
Presentation for layout sections
Header or Footer for structured sections
When to Use Each Role
Use Presentation for layout tables with no data
Use Header or Footer when the section has meaning or structure
This helps screen readers read content in the correct way.
