How to Use the Knak Workfront Integration

Connect your Knak assets to Workfront tasks to streamline collaboration, feedback, and approvals.

The Knak and Workfront integration helps you manage reviews and approvals in one place. You can link assets, sync comments, and track status without switching tools.

Link a Workfront Task and Sync a Proof

Connect your Knak asset to Workfront and create a proof in one flow.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open your task in Workfront

  2. Copy the task URL

    • Use a task URL only

    • Do not use a project URL

  3. Open your asset in Knak

  4. Click the Info tab

  5. Go to the Project Management section

  6. Paste the Workfront task URL

  7. Select the Initiate proof when syncing checkbox

    1. Note: This option does not create a proof on its own. It only enables proof creation when you run a sync.

  8. Click Save to confirm the asset link

  9. Click Sync to create the proof

    1. The proof appears in Workfront after the sync completes.


What Happens After Sync

  • Asset status and URL appear in Workfront

  • Data shows under Task Details β†’ Knak Integration Fields


Where to Find the Proof

  1. Open the linked task in Workfront

  2. Go to the Documents section

You can view both desktop and mobile proofs there.


Sync Comments Between Knak and Workfront

  • Comments added in Knak sync to Workfront

  • Comments appear in the Updates section of the task

This keeps feedback in one place.


Use Custom Fields

You can send custom fields from Workfront to Knak.

How It Works

  • Create custom fields in Workfront

  • Sync values to the Knak asset

  • View fields in the Info tab

Setup for custom fields requires help from Knak. Contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) to create custom fields for your account.


Track Approval Status

  • Proof approval status syncs from Workfront to Knak

  • View status in the Info tab

  • Check under the Reviews section

This helps you monitor progress without leaving Knak.
