Troubleshooting

BadParams Error When Syncing Without an Unsubscribe Link

If you sync an email without an unsubscribe link, Iterable may return a BadParams error.

This happens because Iterable requires every Marketing message to include an unsubscribe link. Iterable validates this requirement during the sync request.

Resolution

If your email does not include an unsubscribe link:

  1. Change the message type to Transactional.

  2. Sync the email again.

Transactional messages do not require an unsubscribe link.

Message type field selection in sync modal with Transactional message selected.

If you continue to receive a BadParams error after following these steps, your Knak account may require an additional setting to be enabled for your account. Contact Knak Support for assistance.

Note: Use Transactional only for transactional emails, such as password resets, receipts, or account notifications. Marketing emails should continue to use the Marketing message type and include the required unsubscribe link.

Blank Template Created After Failed Sync

If a sync fails, Iterable may create a blank template in the root template directory.

This behavior is part of the current integration design.

Recommended Action

  1. Locate the blank template in Iterable.

  2. Delete the template manually.

This helps keep your template library organized.

Dark Mode Button Display Issue

You may notice button text appears incorrectly when emails are sent from Iterable in dark mode.

This is not caused by Knak. The issue occurs because Iterable minifies the HTML during send.

Recommended Action

Contact the Iterable support team for assistance with dark mode rendering behavior.
