Email testing is an essential part of email marketing due to the nature of email clients. And to make this feature even better, now you can customize which email clients you can preview right here in Knak!

Your account is automatically set up with 10 email clients based on global popularity, and importance of seeing rendering differences:

Gmail App Pixel 5, Android 11
Outlook Office 365, Windows 10 (Dark Mode)
Gmail Chrome, Windows 10
Outlook 2019, Windows 10
iPhone 15 iOS 17

Gmail App Pixel 7 Android 13 (Dark Mode)

How to change your email client testing options:

Step 1: Navigate to your company settings

Click Admin > Settings > Email Testing

Step 2: Make sure the "Use Email Testing" feature is enabled

From here you can enable or disable this feature at any time.

Step 3: Click “Customize Email Clients”

This will make a modal pop up for you to search and select the email clients your team can test with.

Step 4: Select the email clients you would like to add

Press the + button to select/deselect your email client options. You will need to have at least 1 email client selected.

Step 5. Don't forget to press save!

After you press save this will apply to the whole account (no brand restrictions available at this time).

Are there any role permissions that can prevent certain users from being able to render test emails?
Only users with the role permission 'Can generate email client previews' permission are able to render email tests:
How many email clients can I select?
As many as you would like! We offer 25,000 email renders for free per year, but you can add as many email clients to test as desired! If you are interested in adding more email renders, contact your Knak CSM to discuss this further.
What counts as a "render?"
A render is the individual client (tile). Litmus calls this “preview”. A test is clicking the test button for an email which will cause multiple renders. How to calculate a Renders = Number of Times each email is tested X Number of Clients

Eg: Each email is tested 3 times X 10 Clients on the email = 30 Renders
