Available Login Methods
Single Sign-On (SSO)
Enable users to log in using your Identity Provider (IdP) with SAML 2.0. SSO simplifies access and strengthens security by centralizing authentication.
To set up SSO, go to Admin Settings > Login.
Click Configure beside "Single Sign-on (SSO)."
After enabling this, users can click Continue with Google in the Knak login page to sign in.
If you would like to redirect users to your SSO login, send a message to Knak Support with your Redirect URL to set this up.
Username and Password Login / Force SSO
Control how users log in to Knak by toggling the Username and Password Login setting.
Go to Admin Settings > Login.
Toggle Username and Password Login ON to allow users to log in using their email and password.
Toggle it OFF to force all users to log in via SSO only. When disabled, users must use your SSO login and cannot use a username and password to login.
Note: Previously, forcing SSO required contacting Knak support. This setting is now available to admins to adjust as needed.
Login with Google
Allow users to log in using the Login with Google button.
Enable this method by toggling on the Login with Google feature in the Admin Settings > Login section.
After enabling this, users can click Continue with Google in the Knak login page to sign in.
Note: This only works if the user's Knak email matches a Google account. If a user’s email is not linked to a Google account, this option will not work.
Troubleshooting SSO Access
If you are unable to log in to your Knak account and suspect it is related to Single Sign-On (SSO), use the steps below to resolve common issues.
Common Reasons for SSO Login Issues
SSO Settings Not Finalized: Knak must complete SSO setup before enabling automatic user creation (without invites). Contact support for bulk user additions.
User Not Added in Knak: Users must first be added to Knak to access the platform.
Pending User Invite: If an invite was sent but not accepted, the user cannot log in. Admins can delete and re-add the user via SSO, or the user can accept the invite and log in through the SSO URL.
Incorrect SSO Link Usage: Logging in through an incorrect link can cause errors. Always use your organization-specific SSO URL.
Blocked Account Status: Account issues may result from incorrect Identity Provider (IdP) configurations.
Account Misconfiguration: If SSO still fails, check with your IT team to confirm the user's account is active and correctly connected to your identity provider.
Forced SSO Login Restrictions: When Username and Password Login is disabled, users cannot use a password to sign in and they must login using SSO. Contact your Knak Admin if you need further assistance.
IdP or SP Issues: Both Identity Provider (IdP) and Service Provider (SP) initiated authentication are supported.
