Login and Navigate the Email Builder

Learn how to log in to Knak, access the Builder, and navigate its key features.

Access the Email Builder

Log In to Knak

  1. Enter your login credentials.

  2. Click Sign In.

Note: If your company uses Single Sign-On (SSO), log in through your company's SSO provider instead. Single Sign-On (SSO) lets you access multiple applications with one set of login credentials. See the related guide: Set Up Single Sign-On (SSO).

If your administrator has enabled Login with Google, you can also sign in with your Google account.

Password Requirements

When you create a Knak password, it must meet the following requirements:

At least 10 characters

Uppercase letter

At least one letter (A–Z)

Lowercase letter

At least one letter (a–z)

Number

At least one number

Special character

At least one non-alphanumeric character (for example: !, @, #)

Password history

Must not reuse a previous password


Navigate the Studio

After you log in, the Studio page opens. The Studio lets you select a brand, open a campaign folder, and create an asset.

Choose Your Brand

After you log in:

  1. Open the Studio page.

  2. Select the brand where you want to create content.

Open a Campaign Folder

  1. Navigate to the correct campaign folder.

  2. Click Create.

  3. Select one of the following options:

    • Create a new email.

    • Create a new landing page.

    • Create from an existing theme.

Create an Asset

  1. Click Create.

  2. Select an email or landing page.

  3. Choose to start from scratch or use an existing theme.

A theme is a prebuilt email or landing page template. You can use a standard Knak theme or a custom theme created by your team.

Navigate the Builder

After you open or create an asset, the Builder appears. Use the Builder to edit, optimize, review, and manage your email or landing page.

Email or Landing Page Name

The asset name appears in the top-left corner.

  • Click the name to rename your asset.

  • Check the save status to confirm that your changes are saved.

Actions Menu

The Actions menu appears in the upper-right corner of the Builder. Use the Actions menu to:

  • Sync your asset with a connected platform.

  • Preview your email or landing page.

  • Download your asset as a PNG, PDF, or HTML file.

  • Open in Knak Send to continue working in Knak Send.

  • Send for Review to start the review process.

  • Create a Link Review to share your asset for feedback.

  • Run Email Testing before publishing.

  • Share Link to generate a shareable link.

  • Send Test Email to send a test version of your email.

  • Clone your asset to create a copy.

  • Save as Theme to create a reusable template.

  • Save as Module to reuse selected content in other assets.

  • Delete Email to permanently remove the asset.

Builder Controls

The Builder Controls appear at the bottom of the Builder.

  • Zoom in or out.

  • Undo or redo changes.

  • Enter Preview mode.

  • Show or hide Dynamic Sections.

Builder Tabs

Info

Use the Info tab to manage asset information.

  • Add tags to organize and search for assets.

  • View the Audit Trail to see who made changes.

  • Review Version History to track previous versions of the asset.

  • Enable or disable the Knak Tracking Pixel for the current email

  • View and update Custom Fields configured for your organization.

Note: The Knak Tracking Pixel option is only available to adjust at the email level if your administrator has enabled the Knak Tracking Pixel in the Admin Settings.

Custom Fields are only available after they have been configured for your organization by your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or Knak Support.


Create

Use the Create tab to build and customize your email or landing page.

  • Update Email Details, including the sender name, sender email address, subject line, and preview text.

  • Adjust Settings, such as the email width and background color.

  • Add Content blocks, including text, images, buttons, dividers, and other content elements.

  • Build your layout with Structure by adding rows and columns.

  • Insert reusable Modules. If your permissions allow it, you can also break modules into editable content.

Optimize

Use the Optimize tab to view recommendations in real time.

Review high-impact suggestions first. Review medium-impact suggestions next.

Collaborate

Use the Collaborate tab to leave comments on your asset.

Place pins to identify the content related to each comment.

  • Blue pins identify standard content.

  • Purple pins identify dynamic content.

Reviews

Use the Reviews tab to manage the review process.

  • View review stages

  • Add reviewers

  • Click Send for Review

Translate

Use the Translate tab to create and manage translated versions of your email or landing page.

  • Generate translations with Knak AI.

  • Create manual translations.

  • Send content directly to supported translation providers.

  • Export or import translation files using XML Localization Interchange File Format (XLIFF).

Performance

Use the Performance tab to view insights about how your published emails perform.

Performance Insights displays key engagement metrics from your connected marketing automation platform.

Use this information to understand campaign performance without leaving Knak. Available metrics depend on your connected platform.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you extend the time before you are automatically signed out?

Yes. Your administrator can change the idle timeout for your company. This setting applies to your entire Knak instance.

To update the setting:

  1. Go to the Admin section.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Navigate to the Login settings area.

  4. Update the Idle Timeout value.
