Overview
You can manually transfer a Knak email template into Marketo by downloading the email HTML from Knak, then importing it into either:
The Legacy Marketo Email Editor
The New Marketo Email Editor
Choose the workflow that matches your Marketo setup.
Import HTML into the Legacy Marketo Email Editor
Step 1: Download HTML from Knak
Step 2: View the Page Source
Open the downloaded HTML file in your browser.
Right-click anywhere on the page.
Select View Page Source.
Step 3: Copy the HTML
Step 4: Open Design Studio in Marketo
Log in to Marketo.
Navigate to Design Studio.
Select Emails > Emails.
Step 5: Create a New Email
Step 6: Configure the Email and Select a Template
Select Open in Editor.
Select Operational Email if required.
Choose a basic email template.
Click Create.
Step 7: Replace the Existing HTML
Open the newly created email.
Click Edit Code.
Remove all existing HTML.
Paste the HTML copied from the Knak file.
Click Save.
Approve and Close the email.
Import HTML into the New Marketo Email Editor
Step 1: Download HTML from Knak
Open your email in the Knak Builder.
Click Actions.
Select Download.
Click Download HTML for New Marketo Editor.
If you do not see this option available in your account, reach out to your Customer Success Manager at Knak to enable this for your account.
Step 2: Open Design Studio
Step 3: Create a New Email
Step 4: Edit the Email Content
Step 5: Import the HTML
Compatibility Mode Notice New Marketo Editor
After importing, Marketo may display the following warning:
"This HTML is not adapted to the editor. It will be edited in compatibility mode."
This message is expected. Knak HTML imports into the New Marketo Editor using Compatibility Mode.
