You can manually transfer a Knak email template into Marketo by downloading the email HTML from Knak, then importing it into either:

- The Legacy Marketo Email Editor
- The New Marketo Email Editor

Choose the workflow that matches your Marketo setup.

Import HTML into the Legacy Marketo Email Editor

1. Open your email in the Knak Builder.
2. Click Actions.
3. Select Download.
4. Click Download HTML for Marketo.

Open the downloaded HTML file in your browser.

Right click the HTML to click view page source to view the email code

1. Open the downloaded HTML file in your browser.
2. Right-click anywhere on the page.
3. Select View Page Source.

Select all code in the page source window.

2. Copy the entire HTML.

1. Log in to Marketo.
2. Navigate to Design Studio.
3. Select Emails &gt; Emails.

3. Enter an email name.
4. Optionally enter a description.

Step 6: Configure the Email and Select a Template

Select Operational Email if required.

1. Select Open in Editor.
2. Select Operational Email if required.
3. Choose a basic email template.
4. Click Create.

1. Open the newly created email.
2. Click Edit Code.

3. Remove all existing HTML.
4. Paste the HTML copied from the Knak file.

5. Click Save.
6. Approve and Close the email.

Import HTML into the New Marketo Email Editor

Click Download HTML for New Marketo Editor.

1. Open your email in the Knak Builder.
2. Click Actions.
3. Select Download.
4. Click Download HTML for New Marketo Editor.

If you do not see this option available in your account, reach out to your Customer Success Manager at Knak to enable this for your account.

Select Emails &gt; Emails (New)

1. Log in to Marketo.
2. Go to Design Studio.
3. Select Emails &gt; Emails (New)

1. Click Create Email.
2. Enter an email name.
3. Enter a subject line.
4. Click Create.

3. Click Edit Email Content.

Select Import HTML as the email creation method.

Upload or paste the HTML downloaded from Knak.

Compatibility Mode Notice New Marketo Editor

After importing, Marketo may display the following warning:

"This HTML is not adapted to the editor. It will be edited in compatibility mode."

This message is expected. Knak HTML imports into the New Marketo Editor using Compatibility Mode.
