Bring your Knak email templates into Marketo without using the direct integration. Follow these steps to upload your HTML into either the legacy or new Marketo email editor.
Legacy Editor Upload
Step 1: Download HTML from Knak
Open your email in the Knak builder.
Click Publish > Download HTML for Marketo.
Step 2: View Page Source
Open the downloaded HTML file.
Right-click the page and select View Page Source.
Step 3: Copy All HTML
Select all code on the page.
Copy the entire HTML.
Step 4: Access Design Studio in Marketo
Log in to your Marketo account.
Navigate to Design Studio.
Step 5: Create New Email Template
Click to create a new Email Template (not Landing Page template).
Important Note: Make sure you're in the Email Template section here, and NOT the Landing Page template section. It's easy to get them mixed up.
Step 6: Paste HTML
Paste the copied Knak HTML into the new template's source editor.
New Editor Upload
Step 1: Download HTML from Knak
In the Knak email builder, click Publish > Download HTML for New Marketo Editor.
If you do not see this option available in your account, reach out to your Customer Success Manager at Knak to enable this for your account.
Step 2: Open Design Studio
Log in to Marketo.
Go to Design Studio.
Step 3: Navigate to New Email Section
Under Emails, choose Emails (New).
Step 4: Create a New Email
Click Create email.
Enter a name and subject line.
Step 5: Edit Email Content
Under Body, click Edit email content.
Step 6: Import HTML
Choose Import HTML as the email creation type.
Note: We were only able to achieve "compatibility mode" for this feature so the warning at the bottom that displays saying "this HTML is not adapted to the editor. It will be edited in compatibility mode" is expected behavior
