How to set up dynamic content
First, navigate to Admin > Settings > Sync, and toggle on Dynamic Content for Marketing Cloud.
Then navigate to Admin > Integrations > Merge Tags
Any attribute that you want to use when creating dynamic segments needs to be added as a merge tag. For example, if you wanted to create segments based on country, you would add %%country%%.
Repeat the above process for any/all attributes you need for your dynamic content.
How to build dynamic segments
Effortlessly create assets that utilize data and deliver personalized and engaging experiences.
To add dynamic content to an element or section, click on the 'Add Dynamic Content' button in the content attributes:
Note: If section-level dynamic content is applied to a section that already contains dynamic elements, the existing dynamic content will be overridden.
To add or create a segment, click on the cog under the variants heading. You can also hide the content by default by checking the box next to 'Hide content by default'.
After clicking on the cog, you can set your segment name and set a condition to match any or all of the conditions in the segment based on selected variables.
As shown in the images below, you can enter the condition and select from various options. You can select many variables for each condition.
After setting up your segment, click 'Save' and you will now be able to use that particular segment for the chosen content.
To set the content for the particular section that has dynamic content, select the variant (default or a created section) and change the content for the selected segment.

When previewing the email, you can toggle on the segments to see what it would look like to a recipient who matched the criteria.

Manage User Permissions for Dynamic Content
Control access by role in Admin > Roles.
Choose the role you'd like to modify and scroll to the Dynamic Content section. From here, you can choose to give your users permission to 'Manage dynamic content variants,' 'Manage global segments,' and 'Manage local segments'.

π Tip: Global segments can be reused across emails. Local segments are for one-time use.
