Control Access to Knak Send
Access to Knak Send is managed through User Roles. Only users assigned to a role with Knak Send role permissions can access the feature.
Create a Knak Send Role
Navigate to Admin Settings.
Click Roles.
Click + Create Role.
Enter Knak Send as the role name.
Enable Allow access to Knak Send in the role permissions.
Click Create.
Assign the Role to Users
Navigate to Users.
Select the user you want to update.
Assign the Knak Send role.
Click Save Changes.
Access Knak Send
You can open Knak Send in two ways.
Option 1: From the Email Builder
Open an email in the Builder.
Click the Actions Menu.
Click Open in Knak Send.
Your email automatically loads and opens in Knak Send.
Option 2: From the App Switcher
Important: Your Knak Send instance has a 1:1 relationship with your Knak Enterprise instance.
Only users in the Enterprise instance can access Knak Send.
Emails can only be sent from the connected Enterprise environment.
Set Up Your Custom Sending Domain
A custom sending domain allows emails to be sent from your company domain.
Navigate to Settings.
Click Set Up Custom Domain.
Enter your domain.
Click Request to Connect.
Copy the CNAME records.
Send the records to your IT team.
Wait for domain verification.
Confirm the status shows Connected.
Note: You cannot send emails until the domain connection is verified and connected.
Manage Allowed Recipient Domains
Allowed Recipient Domains control which email domains can receive emails from Knak Send. This setting helps prevent accidental sends to unintended recipients.
Add a Recipient Domain
You can add up to five additional domains to your allowlist.
Navigate to Settings.
Locate Recipient Domain Restrictions.
Review the current allowlisted domains.
Click Add Domain.
Enter a new domain.
Click Save.
Edit or Remove a Domain
You can update your allowlist at any time.
Navigate to Settings.
Locate Recipient Domain Restrictions.
Find the domain you want to update.
Edit the domain value or click Delete to remove it.
Click Save.
Important: Only contacts with an approved domain can be uploaded. Upload errors usually occur when the contact domain is not in the allowlist.
Import a Contact List
Use the Import CSV feature to upload contacts.
Navigate to Contact Lists.
Click + Import CSV.
Drag a CSV file into the upload area.
Or click to browse and select the file.
Enter a Contact List Name.
Enable Data includes header row if your CSV includes column headers.
Click Next: Map Columns.
Map your CSV columns to Knak contact fields. Available fields include:
Email Address (required)
First Name
Last Name
Role
Department
Location
Other
Click Upload to finalize the contact list.
Create Smart Lists (Optional)
Smart Lists allow you to filter contacts based on specific criteria.
Navigate to Smart Lists.
Click New Smart List.
Enter a Smart List Name.
Click Add Contact List.
Select the contact list to use.
Add filtering conditions based on contact attributes.
Click Save. After saving, you can preview the contacts that match your conditions.
