Using Version History to Restore or Clone Emails and Landing Pages

Learn how to access and use version history to manage previous versions of your assets.

View and Preview Previous Versions

To access and preview earlier versions of an email or landing page:

  1. Open the asset in the Builder.

  2. Click the Info tab.

  3. Select View Version History.
    A list of saved versions will appear by date.

  4. Click any version date to preview its content before restoring or cloning.

Note: All dates and times in Version History are displayed in your local time zone.

For example, if an action is completed at 1:00 PM Eastern Time (ET), a user in Pacific Time (PT) will see it as 10:00 AM PT. Each user sees timestamps converted to their own time zone.


Restore an Email or Landing Page Version

To restore an earlier version:

  1. Select the version you want to restore.

  2. Click Restore.

The selected version becomes the current version. The previous current version is saved automatically.

What Happens When You Restore a Version

When you restore a previous version, Version History records the change in the following way:

  1. The original version keeps its original creation date in Version History.

  2. A new version is created with the current date and time.

  3. The new version contains the content from the older version that you restored.

This process keeps the full version history intact while making the restored content the latest version.

Important: The Version History preview displays the desktop version only.

The mobile layout is available only inside the cloned draft. To view the mobile layout of a previous version:

  1. Select the version you want to review.

  2. Click the Clone icon.

  3. Open the newly created draft.

  4. Switch to Mobile Preview in the Builder.


Clone a Previous Version

To clone a version and keep both::

  1. Select the version you want to clone.

  2. Click the Clone icon.

This creates a new draft from the selected version. The current version remains unchanged.
