Before You Begin
Before generating an email:
Enable Knak AI.
Prepare a prompt that describes your campaign.
Optionally gather supporting images, files, or URLs.

Generate an Email From the Knak Studio
Start your AI-generated email from the Knak Studio homepage or from inside a campaign folder.
The steps below show the process from the Studio homepage. The process is the same when you start from inside a campaign folder.
When you start from a campaign folder, that campaign is selected as the default location for your new email. Select a different campaign if needed.
Step 1: Enter Your Prompt
Enter your prompt in the Knak AI field on the Studio homepage. Describe the email you want to create.
For example:
Product launch
Webinar invitation
Event follow-up
Newsletter
Step 2: Add Supporting Content
Click the + button to add content that Knak AI can use when creating your email.
Add:
Images
Files from your computer
Campaign briefs in Portable Document Format (PDF) or .docx [note: images can only be sourced from PDF documents]
Other supporting documents
Note: You can skip this step if your prompt contains everything Knak AI needs.
Step 3: Continue to Email Setup
Click the arrow button when your prompt and supporting content are ready.
Step 4: Select a Campaign
Select the campaign where you want to create your email.
If you started from the Studio homepage, select a campaign before continuing.
If you started from inside a campaign folder, your current campaign is selected by default. Select a different campaign if you want to save your email somewhere else.
Step 5: Choose Your Styling
Customize how your email should look.
You can select:
Brand Voice: Choose a brand voice for your email copy. This is optional.
Color Kit: Choose a color kit for your email. This is optional.
Font Kit: Choose a font kit for your email. This is optional.
Step 6: Choose How to Build Your Email
Choose one method to guide how Knak AI builds your email. You can use a theme, select modules, or upload a file as a visual reference.
Use a Theme
Select an available theme to guide the layout of your email.
Use Modules
Choose modules to build your email.
Browse and select available modules. Filter by category or search by module name. Select up to 10 modules.
Knak AI uses your selected modules with your prompt. Not every selected module will appear in the generated email.
Use a File as a Template
Upload an image or PDF that shows the layout you want to use. Knak AI uses the file as a visual reference when building your email.
Step 7: Generate Your Email
Review your selections.
Click Generate when you are ready.
Knak AI creates your email using your prompt, supporting content, styling, and selected layout option.
Clone an Email With AI
Use an existing email as the starting point for a new AI-generated email. Knak AI generates new messaging based on your prompt.

How to Clone an Email with AI
Drag an existing email into the Knak AI input field.
You can also click the three-dot menu where available. Select Clone with AI.
Enter your prompt.
Complete your styling and layout selections.
Click Generate.
Review Your Email
Your generated email is fully editable.
You can:
Edit copy.
Replace images.
Rearrange modules.
Update branding.
Regenerate sections.
Review your email before sending or publishing it.
Remix an Existing Prompt
Use Remix to create another version of an AI-generated email.
Hover over the AI icon.
Click Remix.
Remix keeps:
Your prompt
Attachments
Previous inputs
Update your prompt or other inputs. Generate a new version when you are ready.
Known Limitations
Feature | Limitation |
Themes | Best for layout. Only the default module variation is supported. |
Attachments | Maximum of 20 files. Maximum file size is 5 megabytes (MB) per file. |
Images | Image generation is not supported. Upload one image at a time. |
Landing Pages | Not supported yet. |
