What are "Font Weights?"
By definition, "Font weight" is the overall thickness of a typeface's stroke in a given font.
The different font weights are typically categorized as follows:
Thin | 100 weight |
Extra Light/Ultra Light | 200 weight |
Light | 300 weight |
Normal/Regular | 400 weight |
Medium | 500 weight |
Semi Bold/Demi Bold | 600 weight |
Bold | 700 weight |
Extra Bold/Ultra Bold | 800 weight |
Black/Heavy | 900 weight |
How to Configure Font Weights in your Knak Account
If you do not see the option for different font weights while you are editing an asset, send a message to the support team and we can set this up for your account!
Just let us know that you would like to have the preference for "font weights" applied to your account and we will take care of the rest!

Known Limitations
*Important Note: If you only have certain font weights available in your font family folder, and you try to use a different weight that is not loaded into the font file, the builder will automatically default to the closest font weight available.
If you would like to avoid any issues like this while requesting a custom font to your account, supply as many fonts as you can/as required for your desired outcome from your brand!
