How Veeva Picklist/Custom Text Tokens Work in Knak

Use Veeva Custom Text Tokens as merge tags in Knak. This lets you personalize your assets with values from Veeva.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have the Veeva Custom Text Token provided by your Veeva administrator. You must use the exact format supplied by Veeva. This allows Veeva to return the correct value when your content is sent.

Add a Veeva Custom Text Token as a Merge Tag

Step 1: Copy the Veeva Token Format

Use the token exactly as it appears in Veeva. Do not change the formatting.

Step 2: Create a Merge Tag in Knak

  1. In Knak, open Admin.

  2. Click Integrations.

  3. Select Merge Tags.

  4. Click Create New Merge Tag.

  5. Enter the merge tag details.

  6. Paste the Veeva Custom Text Token into the appropriate field.

  7. Click Save.

Use the Merge Tag in Your Asset

After you save the merge tag, you can add it to any supported asset.

  1. Open your email or landing page in the editor.

  2. Place your cursor where you want the value to appear.

  3. Click Tags in the editor toolbar.

  4. Select your merge tag from the list.

The merge tag is inserted into your content. Veeva replaces the token with the correct value when the asset is processed.
