Performance Insights (Marketo)

Performance Insights (Marketo) pulls email performance data from Marketo into Knak. You can track results without leaving the platform. Once your campaign is sent from Marketo, you can view metrics in Knak.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can You See Landing Page Metrics?

No. Landing page metrics are not available at this time.

As a workaround:

  • Create two separate landing pages in Knak.

  • Sync both pages to your Marketing Automation Platform (MAP).

  • Run an A/B test in your MAP.

Why Does Data Stop Importing After 30 Days?

Knak imports new metrics for 30 days after the first import. This improves performance and ensures recent data loads efficiently.

After 30 days:

  • You can still view historical metrics.

  • Open the asset tile or the Performance tab to access past data.

Which Emails Show Metrics?

You can view metrics for:

  • Emails synced to Marketo

  • Emails sent from Marketo

  • Emails sent after the feature was enabled

Metrics require a real lead or member in your MAP. Test or sample emails do not populate data.

Does This Impact Your Marketo Bulk API Export Limit?

No.

Marketo’s default Bulk API Export limit is 500 MB per day. Knak automatically stops importing data at 250 MB (50% of your daily limit). Data continues importing the next day.

Can You Increase the 250 MB Cutoff?

Yes. Your Customer Success Manager (CSM) can adjust your cutoff limit.

For higher Bulk API Export limits, contact Marketo support for pricing.

Why don’t Knak and Marketo open counts match?

Knak and Marketo track opens in different ways. This leads to differences in reported numbers.

  • Different definitions: Knak tracks Total Confirmed Opens using the Knak tracking pixel. Marketo often shows unique or attributed opens tied to known leads.

  • Attribution limits: Marketo may not count an open if it cannot link the activity to a recipient or send record. Knak still tracks the image load.

  • Timing differences: Knak logs opens close to real time. Marketo reports may update later.

  • Email client behavior: Some clients, like Gmail, use image proxies. Each platform may interpret these opens differently.

  • Report scope: Marketo reports can vary by view, such as email performance or program performance. These may not match the data Knak displays.

  • Deduplication rules: Each system uses different rules to count repeat opens. This includes counting by recipient, device, or time window.

These differences are expected. Open metrics across platforms will not always match exactly.
