What Are Custom Fields?
Custom Fields are dynamic tokens that insert values from your account. These can be set at the email, brand, or company level.
They use this format: {{?field_name?}}
You can find Custom Fields in the Info tab under Advanced Settings after setup.
Enable Custom Fields
Custom Fields must be enabled for your account before you can use them.
Contact your Customer Success Manager or Knak Support to request setup.
Provide the Following Information
Include the following details for each Custom Field:
Field Name (token name)
Field Type
Text
Drop-down menu (include the available values)
Date
Date & Time
Account Default Value (optional)
Use Custom Fields
After setup is complete, you can:
Copy Custom Field tokens from the Brand settings.
Insert tokens into:
Emails
Landing pages
Integrations, such as project management tools
When the content is published or synchronized, the token displays the assigned value.
Manage Brand-Level Settings
If you are a brand administrator, you can control how Custom Fields behave for your brand.
Default Value
Set a brand-level default value.
The brand default overrides the company-level default.
Lock Field
Lock a Custom Field to prevent changes at the email level.
This ensures the same value is used across all content within the brand.
Setting | Description |
Default Value | Sets the default value for the brand. This overrides the company-level default. |
Lock Field | Prevents users from editing the field at the email level. |
