Updated this week

The unsubscribe, forward to a friend and view online links are an essential part of any email. You can use standard special links or create custom merge tags like preference center links for more personalized subscriber management. Learn how to add these special links to your assets and how to configure special links!

Step 1. To add these links into an email in the Knak builder, click on a text content block to bring up the popup editor. Select 'Links' and select the type of special link you want to add.

Step 2. (optional) You can change the text of the special link. For example, if you want to change 'View as Webpage' to 'View in Browser', highlight it and click on the link icon:

From here you can change the text to display as desired:

Step 3. Hit save and your link will show the new text for the link.

How to Manage Special Links

If you would like to add or remove any Special Links, this can be done by an admin.

Step 1. Navigate to Admin> Integrations> Merge Tags

Step 2. Here you can edit the merge tag you'd like to change. Check the box next to 'Special Link' to make the merge tag a special link. Select this option if you'll use this tag across multiple modules or assets, making it accessible from the 'Special Link' dropdown menu in the email builder.

Uncheck the box next to 'Special Link' to remove a special link.

Step 3. Press save after applying your edits and you're all set! These special links will now be available for you to use in your assets.
