How to set up Iterable Dynamic Content

Use Dynamic Content to personalize messages based on merge tag data from your Iterable integration.

Enable Dynamic Content in Iterable

  1. Go to Admin > Integrations > Platforms.

  2. Locate your connected Iterable integration.

  3. Click the Edit icon.

  4. Check the box to Enable Dynamic Content.

Set Up Merge Tags for Segmentation

  1. Go to Admin > Integrations > Merge Tags.

    1. Learn more about our Multi MAP Merge Tags here.

  2. Add merge tags for each attribute you want to target.

    • Example: Use {{Country}} to segment by country.

  3. Repeat this step for every merge tag needed for your segments.


Build Dynamic Segments

Create content rules that show different content based on merge tag values.

Add Dynamic Content

  1. Click the Add Dynamic Content button in any content blockโ€™s attributes.

  2. Click the cog icon under the Variants section to define a new segment.

  3. (Optional) Enable Hide default variant if needed.

Define Segment Rules

  1. Name your segment.

  2. Choose to match any or all conditions.

  3. Add conditions using merge tag variables.

  4. Click Save.

Add Content for Each Segment

  1. Select the segment (e.g., Default, Country = Canada).

  2. Enter content specific to that segment.

Default:

Preview Dynamic Segments

Use preview mode to check your content variations:

  • Toggle between segments such as Default and Country = Canada.

Manage User Permissions for Dynamic Content

  1. Go to Admin > Roles.

    Roles page in the Admin section of the platform.
  2. Select a role and scroll to the Dynamic Content section.

  3. Choose permission levels:

    • Manage dynamic content variants

    • Manage global segments

    • Manage local segments
