How to set up dynamic content

Set Up Merge Tags for Dynamic Content

Create merge tags for any attributes you want to use for segmentation.

  1. Go to Admin > Integrations > Merge Tags.

  2. Add merge tags for each attribute.

    For example, if you wanted to create segments based on country you would add {{Country}}

  3. Repeat for all attributes you plan to use


Build Dynamic Segments

Create personalized content using dynamic segments.

Add Dynamic Content

  1. Click the Add Dynamic Content button in the content block's attributes.

  2. Click the cog icon under the “Variants” section to add a segment.

  3. (Optional) Toggle on Hide default variant if needed.

Define Segment Rules

  1. Name your segment.

  2. Choose to match any or all of the conditions.

  3. Set your conditions using merge tag variables.

  4. Click Save.

Add Content for Each Segment

  1. Choose a segment (e.g., Default, Country = Canada).

  2. Enter the content specific to that segment.

Preview Dynamic Segments

Use preview mode to see how the email looks for each segment.

  • Toggle between segments like Default and Country = Canada.

Manage User Permissions for Dynamic Content

Control access by role in Admin > Roles.

Choose the role you'd like to modify and scroll to the Dynamic Content section. From here, you can choose to give your users permission to 'Create Dynamic Elements,' 'Manage Global Segments,' and 'Manage Local Segments.'

Note: Global segments can be reused across emails. Local segments are for one-time use.
