Send and receive translations directly from Transperfect in Knak

You can send and receive translations directly from TransPerfect inside Knak. This integration helps you manage multilingual campaigns faster. It keeps your workflow in one place. TransPerfect is a translation provider that supports over 170 languages. It helps maintain quality and cultural accuracy.

Before You Start

You must set up the TransPerfect integration first.


Submit an Asset for Translation

Important: If your asset includes module variations that are not locked, all variations will be translated. This includes variations toggled off. Locked modules are excluded.

Step 1: Start a Translation Request

  1. Select the Translate tab in the top menu bar

  2. Click Translate Now

    Select the translations tab, click the translate now button.
  3. Select your integration

    Select your Transperfect integration from the request translation modal.

Step 2: Configure Project Settings

  1. Select your Project

  2. Choose the Source Language

  3. Select a Workflow

    Select the translation tab, click on the translate now button

Step 3: Select Target Languages

  1. Choose the languages for translation

    Select your target language(s)

Step 4: Choose Campaign and Submit

  1. Select a Campaign

  2. Configure optional settings:

    • Add Notes for translators

    • Apply custom field data from the base asset to translated variants

    • Select a Due date

      • Note: If you do not see the option to select a due date, your admin may have hidden this setting in the TransPerfect integration configuration in Knak.

  3. Click Submit Request

Step 5: View Translations

  • View all translations in the right-side panel of the builder

How Translations Appear in Knak

Your translated assets display differently depending on campaign selection.

If Assigned to the Same Campaign

  • The translation appears as a collapsible card under the original asset from the Studio View.

  • Click View Translations to expand the list.

If Assigned to a Different Campaign

  • The translation appears as a separate asset from the Studio View.

  • It displays inside the selected campaign.

Troubleshooting

Update Out-of-Date Variants

This option updates translated assets when the original changes.

  • Updates existing elements

  • Adds new elements

  • Removes deleted elements

You must request translation again if text changes.

Exception: Custom HTML blocks update automatically. No resubmission needed.

Resubmit an Asset for Translation

If a translation request is not marked Completed or Failed, delete the original request before resubmitting.

  1. Open the Translate tab.

  2. Click the three-dot menu next to the language.

  3. Delete the existing request.

  4. Submit a new translation request.

Best Practices

Follow these rules to avoid issues:

  • Do not delete content from the base asset after translation

  • Do not delete content from translated versions

  • Do not remove modules that are in use
