A

Asset

An asset is a Knak email or landing page created in the builder.

  • Design assets using modules, sections, and themes

  • Use assets to manage complete emails or pages

  • Store assets inside campaigns

Brand

A brand is the top-level container in Knak.

  • Define logos, colors, fonts, and themes

  • Set structure for all work

  • Control the environment for your team

  • Brand = the environment you build in

Hierarchy

  • Brand → Folder → Campaign → Email

Campaign

A campaign is where you build and manage marketing work.

  • Create and edit emails

  • Group assets for one initiative

  • Organize work tied to a goal

  • Campaign = where things are created

Example

  • “Spring Product Launch” → campaign

  • Contains all related emails

Campaign Templates

Campaign templates are pre-built designs for specific use cases.

  • Start from a complete email or landing page

  • Use templates for common campaign types

  • Save time when creating new assets

Dynamic Content

Content that changes based on rules.

  • Show different content to different audiences

Editor

The workspace where you build emails and pages.

The process of sending your design to another system.

  • Send to your Marketing Automation Platform (MAP)

  • Send to your Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

Folder

A folder organizes your content.

  • Group campaigns or other folders

  • Keep work easy to find

  • Do not build emails inside folders

  • Folder = where things are stored

Example

  • “2026 Campaigns” → folder

  • Contains multiple campaigns

Marketing Automation Platform (MAP)

A system that sends and tracks marketing messages.

Merge Tag

A placeholder for dynamic data.

  • Personalize email content

  • Pull data from your MAP or CRM

  • Use multi-map merge tags for field mapping

Module

Modules are pre-built layout blocks.

  • Reuse modules across campaigns

  • Insert modules into sections

Module variations are different versions of the same module.

Theme

A pre-built design style.

User Role Permissions

A set of permissions for a user.

Version History
